Home School Winter Break
January 4th - January 8th

We are going to Disney World!  We are getting some excellent deals to include Educational Programs. As homeschoolers we have a flexibility like no other.  We are planning a trip around Disney's Value Season. We will not only get a lower rate on our rooms, etc.  In addition, we will have less crowds and milder weather.   We hope you can join us.

Depending on which ticket you choose, you'll enjoy four, five or eight days in the theme parks and behind-the-scenes educational programs for children in grades K-12.

You can choose your own arrival date, however you must plan your arrival in time for your children to attend the educational programs. I'll try to schedule all of them toward the beginning of the week, but I may need to schedule them later if Disney doesn't have program availability on those days.

The only time you'll be tied to the group is when your children participate in the educational programs. Otherwise you're free to roam Disney World at will, either alone as a family or with others - your choice. We will have an optional "meet and greet", date is currently TBD.

The registration deadline for this trip is October 1, 2009.

NOTE:  The Southwest Home Educators plans a trip that goes to Disney Land (California).  However, they go in September time frame. Those interested in going to Disney Land click here, otherwise we'll see you in Florida!

BEFORE YOU READ ANYTHING ELSE....READ TERMS & CONDITIONS!

Terms & Conditions
Please check Disney's website for information about their hurricane policy in regard to refunding your hotel cost if your trip is disrupted. I can't be responsible for Disney's refund policy, so make sure you understand it before you reserve your rooms, etc. Regarding our group tickets - Disney will work with us on a case-by-case basis to refund our tickets in the event of a hurricane. There are no guarantees, but they'll almost definitely refund our tickets if they experience a direct hit (or anticipated direct hit) from a hurricane right before our arrival or during our stay. If there's just heavy rain from a hurricane, then no, they probably won't refund our tickets - we'll just have to deal with the rain.  Please register with this in mind.

If you decide not to take the trip after paying, a refund is NOT guaranteed. Please read and understand the refund policy (located at the bottom on this page) before sending your money!

Group Park Tickets & Fees...

Group park tickets (including registration fee) are $165 per person (3 years old and up) for a 4-day park hopper with plus option. A 5-day park hopper ticket with plus option is $175 per person (3 years old and up).  An 8-day park hopper ticket with plus option is $195 per person (3 years old and up).  A registration fee is included in the ticket prices.  This fee helps cover the costs involved in coordinating this trip and supporting this website.

Included in your 4,5 or 8 day park hopping ticket - you'll be able to visit all four Disney parks as often as you'd like for four, five, or eight days (they don't have to be consecutive days). You may hop between multiple parks on the same day.

Because we are going during Value Season (Winter) the plus option, is available. However, only one of the water parks will be open. With the plus option you can visit DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Park, Blizzard Beach Water Park, and/or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park four times in any combination. These can be used any time during your stay. They don't have to be used during your 4 or 5 park days.

Included in your ticket price is one educational program for students in grades K through 12.  Additional programs are $23.50 each person.

Our park tickets are substantially less (depending on where/when you purchase) than regular park tickets with similar features. One restriction we have, however, is that the number of parents and guests with tickets must be equal to or less than the number of students with tickets. That means that we can purchase these deeply discounted tickets for parents, grandparents, older/younger siblings, relatives, and friends only if they don't exceed the number of students in our group.

Tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority going to parents, siblings, and grandparents first, so register early for a better chance of getting educational tickets for the "extra" guests in your party. I'll let you know how the guest-to-student ratio is holding up as we go along. (Keep in mind children under 3 get in free and don't require tickets.)

Lastly, the "no expiration option" is NOT available.  The tickets can be used 7 days prior and 7 days after our scheduled time.  Meaning they will be good from December 28, 2009 - January 15, 2010. Keep in mind all Educational Programs will be scheduled the week of January 4th - 8th, unless there is a demand for other times.

Accomodations...

The resort areas that I am able to book you at are Disney's least expensive resorts (the Values - All Star MusicAll Star Sports, All Star Movie, and the new Pop Century) will cost $76 per night, plus tax for a total of $85.88/night (ie: 5 nights = $429.40).  If you book your accommodations through me I can offer you the meal vouchers (see Meals) not the dining plan.  If you are interested in the dining plan you have to book directly through Disney.

If you are not interested in staying at the Value Resorts you'll need to make your own travel and hotel arrangements for this trip. Disney offers group discounts for their rooms, however, we need at least 10 or more rooms per resort in order for a discount to be offered.  Therefore, if you are interested, when you register you can check off which Disney Resort is of interest and once I have a group of 10 for the resort you are requesting I can proceed to let those interested parties know what discounts, if any, are available. I make no guarantees

The one perk of staying at the resorts is that you are eligible for the Dining Plan (book separately). If this is important to you make sure you are staying at a Disney Resort. While you may be able to get cheaper rates off Disney properties, you won't be able to take advantage of any of Disney's dining plans unless you are staying at any of Disney's properties.

Meals...

You can purchase meal vouchers @ $13.25 per meal per person. These are for counter service only and cannot be used for table service.  If you are interested in the Disney dining plan it is only available when you make your reservations directly through Disney.  I am not able to offer the dining plan only meal vouchers.  For details of dining plan click here

Refunds...

If you need to back out of the trip after paying for your tickets, I'll work with you to get your money back for your group tickets (less the registration fee) by trying to arrange for another family to take your place (from my waiting list of families who register after the deadline). I can't guarantee a refund if I have no families on my waiting list. Last minute drop-outs are a problem and can cause the rest of the group to cancel due to dropping below the level required for group discounts. Please be sure you really want to go before registering and paying - there's no guarantee you'll get your money back if you cancel.
